Breast Reconstruction

Monday 6 May 2019

Not everyone chooses to have a breast reconstruction after (preventive) mastectomy due to breast cancer or inherited gene mutations. It is a personal choice and a decision that is not easy to make. However if you struggle to find the right, complete and correct information regarding surgery, the different techniques currently available in breast reconstruction and the potential disadvantages but especially also the benefits associated with it,

Prof. Dr. Phillip Blondeel, world renowned expert and surgeon, will give a keynote lecture on this topic at It’s a Beautiful Day on May 10, and will be happy to answer your questions.

Those of you who are interested in the most recent developments in breast reconstruction and potential future innovations, please find a very interesting article recently published, in the link below (in Dutch). In the article (titled ‘Een borst uit de bioprinter’) Prof. Blondeel reflects on current techniques, such as lipofilling, and sheds a light on the future of bioprinting! you can also read the article via the link on our website www.beautifulabc.com/nl.
